From Scrubs to Software: How Lia Brings Vet Expertise to Tech Support
At VetlinkPRO, we’re more than just software providers—we’re a team of passionate individuals who genuinely care about the veterinary industry. One of the newest additions to our team, Lia, brings a unique perspective, blending hands-on experience in vet clinics with a deep love for problem-solving.
Having spent years in veterinary nursing, Lia never expected to step into the world of tech support. But when an injury forced a career shift, leaving the industry entirely wasn’t an option. VetlinkPRO presented the perfect opportunity. "I’ve always been someone who enjoys digging into problems and finding solutions," Lia explains. "Now, instead of assisting patients directly, I’m helping the teams who care for them by making sure their software runs smoothly."
As a Support Specialist, every day involves listening to clinic teams, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring they get the most out of VetlinkPRO. Whether it’s solving a technical glitch, guiding a vet through a new feature, or escalating a complex issue to the right team.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the role, Lia says, is following up with clients to tell them an issue has been resolved or that a feature they requested has been implemented. "It’s great to know that the work we do has a direct impact on making someone’s day a little easier."
A New Perspective on VetlinkPRO
Having worked on the front lines of a veterinary clinic, Lia understands just how much a practice relies on its management software. From scheduling and patient records to billing and communication, the right tools can make a world of difference.
Lia says "Reliable support, tailored tools, and constant innovation mean vet teams can work more efficiently and provide even better care for their patients."
Beyond Work: Cats, Handstands, and an Ever-Growing List of Hobbies
Outside of work, Lia has held a handstand for nearly two minutes! Pilates, beach days, and motorcycling are current favourites, though recent pursuits have also included learning Morse code, playing chess, and trying embroidery.
At home, life revolves around two feline companions—Paul, the grump-faced but affectionate cat, and his brother Gary, who, despite being terrified of everything (including Paul’s grumpy face), adds endless entertainment.
Looking to the Future
Now three months into the role, Lia is eager to continue building strong relationships with VetlinkPRO clients. "I already recognise a few familiar voices when I answer the phone, and that’s something I really enjoy. It’s great when a client knows they can rely on us—not just for support, but for genuine collaboration."
