Complex Products Feature

Overview

Complex Products refers to what is generally called "Procedures". It is a group of pre-configured drugs, materials and services that can be placed on a bill quickly and efficiently. There are three main types of procedures called "Complex Products" in VetlinkPRO.

Macro

This is a simple collection of services, drugs, fees, and materials grouped together. Each item is independent and once the billing screen is populated, each line can be edited or deleted, and more lines added. All lines are printed on a client's invoice / receipt / statement. Basically, it is the equivalent of typing all the lines one at a time, except it auto populates based on a stored macro. This type of feature is very common with most applications.

Surgery (Fixed Price Procedures)

This is a highly sophisticated complex product with extended features. It has two main behaviours that a user is able to program; one is pricing behaviour, and the other printing behaviour. This type of procedure is usually used for fixed or advertised price surgeries such as De-sexing procedures and so on. In these cases, one can set up a "Header Name" with a fixed price and then continue to build components made up of services, fees, materials, and drugs. All component prices are automatically re-calculated using a mean-weight average contribution formula to maintain the fixed price. A printing behavior can also be selected to control what the client will see on their invoice.

Printing Behaviour Options
  • Print the Main Header and the Total Price only and hide all components and component pricing
  • Print the Main Header and the Total Price only; print all components and their prices as well
  • Print the Main Header and the Total Price only; print all components but suppress all individual component prices
  • Hide the Main Header and the Total Price; print all components and their prices

Pricing Behaviour while Editing - As items within a procedure are edited, all components are re-priced dynamically to main the fixed price. This avoids having to discount to achieve a promised price. Also by altering each drug quantity for example, one is able to achieve accurate medical information for dosage, accurate inventory control, and of course accurate information for that drug's contributory pricing. Finallly, within a large bill a sub-total is always available and visible

Kitset (Pricing to reflect usage)

This is somewhat similar to the Surgery system except that pricing for the procedure increases or decreases depending on component modifications being made.

Pricing Behaviour while Editing - As items within a procedure are edited, the price increase is applied to the total. The advantage here, compared to a Macro, is that printing behaviour can be controlled and a sub-total is always available and visible on-screen.
